National exposure on Home & Garden TV channels
boost exposure for two sales associates
(IRVING, TEXAS – Jan. 25, 2009) – Two sales associates with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage – Dallas/Fort Worth (CBDFW) are getting national media exposure thanks to the increasingly popular Home & Garden TV Channel.
Rochelle Fitzgerald, an associate at the Richardson regional office of CBDFW, will be featured on TLC’s My First Home program sometime in February. “TLC is part of HGTV, and this particular program is on selling homes with updated kitchens,” Ms. Fitzgerald says.
She was one of three finalists interviewed and filmed for an upcoming segment and is spreading the word to friends, family and clients.
“We submitted a video of a kitchen at the home at 1926 Geary in Garland and another at 1600 Montclair in Richardson,” says Ms. Fitzgerald. “They went on line and found my Web site and information, and the television producer said she was impressed with the Web site and the updated work on the two properties.”
“The best thing about it is HGTV brought a qualified buyer to look at the featured homes,” says Pam Nelms, branch manager of the Richardson regional office. “Although the buyers chose another home than Rochelle’s, it is still terrific exposure.”
Licensed as a Realtor sales associate for five years, Ms. Fitzgerald has had her Web site for the past two years and takes advantage of the Coldwell Banker marketing resources to build and update the Web site. “The producer actually said they chose me to participate because my Web site was so professional,” she notes.
Mary Jo Ward, sales associate at the Colleyville office and a 20-year veteran with Coldwell Banker, says her television experience was a lot like one might imagine in the film business.
“My seller’s home was on House Hunters, another program with HGTV, and was picked as the No. 2 property for sale,” she says. “The producer was from Hollywood, and the photographers flew in from Florida to film the three houses chosen to feature. Sales associates submitted a survey, and the producers select three homes to feature.”
Again HGTV producers brought in qualified buyers, who eventually chose a home in North Richland Hills. Ms. Ward’s featured property at 7921 Bella Court in North Richland Hills has since sold, she says. “Built by Grayboy Builders, a Keller-based home builder, the home had extraordinary custom finish out in hardwood floors, granite counters, an outdoor kitchen and a sales price of $307,900.”
Colleyville manager Tommy Dyer says he and Ms. Ward were disappointed the featured buyers didn’t choose Ms. Ward’s listing, but added: “Exposure like that to a huge national audience of HGTV fans is a marvelous experience – one you really can’t even buy.”
